Wells Fargo Expands Mortgage Modification Programs
If you had a mortgage with Wachovia, you may be in luck as Wells Fargo
has just announced the extension of its mortgage modification program
to Wachovia customers. This action has come on the heels of
Wells Fargo acquiring Wachovia and will allow Wachovia mortgage holders
a foreclosure extension until February 28 to apply for
modification. Wells Fargo's mortgage modifications focus on
lowering mortgage payments so that the represent a manageable 38% of a
homeowner's income. These modifications are accomplished by
extending loan terms, changing interest rates, and reducing
principals. This move may provide some relief to those
affected by the economic slump.
